Growing up I played a ton of basketball, and working out was always something that I did. I maintained my fitness throughout having babies, moving, working full-time, etc. Last year I experienced one of the hardest things physically. I tore and then had my ACL repaired, leaving me in crutches for 6 weeks. Everything was hard, but the hardest part was having my whole fitness routine uprooted. I learned about Taylor through my physical therapist. She told me that she would get me walking again, but that I needed someone to get me as strong as possible so that I could get back to doing all the things I wanted to do. She recommended Taylor because she was impressed how he had supported some of her previous clients post-injury. I contacted Taylor and we have been working hard together ever since.

Taylor has been instrumental in me becoming my strongest version of myself. There are a million things that I appreciate about Taylor. He listens to what my goals are and designs programs that specifically target those goals. Everything is based on research, and he will share the "why" anytime you ask him. Even though we meet monthly, we communicate all the time via the app! Taylor utilizes what I have in my home to do my workouts, which as a mom I completely appreciate being able to do things all at home. Taylor is such a great guy and I truly appreciate him and the role he has played in my healing journey and beyond!

Although I've always liked lifting weights, I've never been very consistent. I get bored, frankly, and what free time I have, I'd rather spend doing the activities that training would prepare me for. I try to ski two to three times a week in winter, bike that much in summer, and fill in the gaps with hiking and climbing. I'll lift for a month or two, get sore, and move on.

With Taylor's guidance, however, I've found a new reason to train--results! His program included enough different exercises and just the right amount of challenge to keep me interested in the gym, but more importantly, after 3 months of working with him, I've noticed gains out in the mountains. I don't get nearly as tired when I'm skinning up a 13er, and I find that I can bike harder for longer.

Most importantly, Taylor is a patient coach and genuinely lovely person. He is always a consummate professional (I was always surprised with how quickly he'd respond to any comment I'd send him!), but at the same time I feel like I'm working out with a friend. Put simply, if you want to improve your performance, hire Taylor!

  • Bodyweight: 202 down to 157 in 6 months.

  • 0 Pullups to 7 pullups in 6 months.

What started as a way to lose some weight and occupy time during quarantine turned into an overhaul of my lifestyle.

I used to workout because I thought I “needed to.” Well, I did. But, now I do it because I want to. I used to avoid certain foods because I know they were bad for me, but I still wanted to eat them. Now I eat what I know would be good for my body. And that is what I WANT to eat.

The simple fact is, the plan works. They key to your success is your consistency. You have to stick with it. Taylor can only show you what he knows. It’s up to you to apply it to your daily life. If you are honest with yourself and with your program you will see results. It’s as simple as that.

I started working with Taylor in late 2018 with an initial goal of becoming fit. Most recently, I told Taylor that I wanted to compete in a powerlifting competition. We worked together in developing and executing a plan which ended up paying off come competition time as I placed first for my weight class. I hit 3 PR's in the meet, shattering my own personal expectations. Taylor is extremely well versed in strength training and I would recommended him to anyone looking to stay fit. My deadlift 1-rep max went from 275lb to 446lbs 1RM deadlift in 2 years.

Prior to working with Taylor, I'd joined his strength classes at the gym and started strength training more consistently. I have a history of knee issues that made me hesitant to do things like heavy squats. And I'd never once done a deadlift in my life prior to Taylor's classes. I decided to start one on one training partly as a motivational move to keep me honest and working out regularly, and also because I wanted to make sure my workouts were effective and my form was good so that I wouldn't further aggravate my knees.

When I started working out with Taylor, my heaviest deadlift was 155 and now it's 255. My squat went from 95 to 185 and my bench press from 65 to 135. I'd never touched a kettlebell before Taylor's classes and last year I was able to do the Simple Standard (100 24kg 1-Hand KB swings in 5 minutes, followed by 10 16kg getups in 10 minutes). I've also learned to do KB snatches and did 90 20kg snatches in my last session. I'd NEVER touched a kettlebell before starting work with Taylor two years ago.

And, even better, I don't have knee issues. My legs are strong and I'm not dealing with the regular inflammation I used to have. One-on-one training has been hugely beneficial in keeping me motivated and making sure I'm working out smart and safe and continuing to progress. Taylor is great at adapting workouts to the individual needs of his clients. And he's a real nerd about the science behind it all. He constantly learning about new techniques and is always excited to share what he's learned.

I've always considered myself an athlete for climbing, but the weight room has intimidated me for years. I enjoyed basic lifts in high school, but recently felt overwhelmed about keeping proper form and balancing training with my existing climbing schedule.

Revive The Human helped me develop an efficient and fun plan that keeps me strong for climbing and prevents injuries. It's easy-to-follow, and Taylor keeps track of my progress/makes tweaks to ensure that the plan fits my current goals and abilities. Training days have become one of the highlights of my week.

I set out with the intent of getting stronger, and I definitely have gotten incredibly strong - stronger than I thought I was capable of. I have also gained a lot of knowledge on proper lifting form and technique. I took Taylor's classes at the LCC for a little over a year, and began training with him individually this past summer. With the help of Taylor, I'm now set to compete in my first USAPL powerlifting comp in April of 2021.

I started in the very beginning at about 185 lbs for deadlift, now currently at 355 and hoping to PR again soon! For bench and squat, I didn't really have a starting base, but am now at 265 lbs for squat and 165 lbs for bench. I CAN DO A BODYWEIGHT PULL UP! I wasn't able to do that before.

I've come a long way since joining the gym in March of 2019, and it is all because of Taylor. So thankful for him bringing my dreams to life! I'm excited to continue to gain strength and confidence in the gym.

Bodyweight: 195 down to 170.

  • Deadlift: 230 to 335

  • Kettlebell Press: 5 reps @12kg to 6 reps @ 20kg

I came to Taylor at a low point and at a weight in my life that I wasn’t proud of. I first Started in-person training with Taylor correcting my form and building an exercise routine precise for me, with the next day having little-to-no soreness at all. This helped me continue to the gym, which is more of a climbing gym, and to focus more on weight lifting. Even with all everyday life problems my exercise routine made it one of the easier things to continue weekly, and the more constant I am the better I feel.

Along with his expertise in training, Taylor is very easy to approach about everything else, and if you talk to him about what's going with him you will learn that he is constantly reading and attending conferences to better his knowledge to pass on to other people even through COVID (teleconference).Great training and a great person running. Cant recommend enough.

  • Kettlebell Press: 8kg >> 12kg — 50% increase.

  • Started with swinging 16kg kettlebell, now swings 24kg kettlebell.

I went from going to a yoga class here and there to strength training for an hour 3x per week (fairly) consistently for 8 months now. I've gained not only physical strength, but also grit and confidence in knowing that I can do things I didn't think I could!

  • 2 Pull-Ups at bodyweight >> 4 Pull-Ups at bodyweight + 8kg.

  • 24kg Turkish Getup.

I reached out to Taylor in February 2020 about starting a strength training program. Little did I know what I was about to get myself into! I wanted to get strong and stay strong --- and also try something new --- so I went all-in on kettlebells. Ten months later, I look forward to my weekly regimen of swings, snatches, presses, Turkish getups, weighted pull-ups, squats, mobility drills, and more. It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself, and I don't think I could have gotten here without Taylor. For me, the biggest accomplishment is that I'm still doing it; the weights continue to get heavier, and I feel good while doing it. This is the first time in my life that I've worked out this consistently and methodically, and I'm really excited to see how things progress in the years to come.

  • Bodyweight dropped from 184 >> 165 over 9 months.

Smashed through my weight loss goal and then worked to start building up strength. Taylor also helped me isolate and strengthen some issues I had from past injuries so I can continue with the program pain-free.

Revive The Human helped me prepare for the new Army Combat Fitness Test. I'm an active duty military guy and knew the new test would take some dedicated effort to produce a good score. Our old fitness test consisted of pushups, sit-ups, and a 2 mile run. The new test includes deadlifts, pushups, knee-up pullups, 10lb ball throw, sprint-drag-carry, and a 2 mile run. I work a busy job so I needed a plan and the accountability to realize my fitness goals and Taylor delivered on both accounts. He built me an awesome program that targeted the new events and consistently listened and then tweaked the program as I progressed in each area. I'm confident that I'm well prepared for this upcoming test and know that as each new week passes, that I'll be even more prepared. Extremely happy with Review the Human!
